Why I am Solidly Behind ASUU Strikes.

If you can notice any infrastructural Development in Nigerian public Universities today, it is because of the  continuous ASUU pressure. For instance, our own Joseph Sarwuan Tarkaa University formerly, University of Agriculture Makurdi and the Benue State University respectively  were  more of a village secondary school. The  released of these funds under duress by the federal government  as a result of ASUU strikes over the years  has change the faces of these universities infrastructuraly. ASUU remains among "fewer"unions in Nigeria that can "notoriously but reasonable knock the government on her balehead." If not, public universities would have suffered the same chaotic and dilapidated fate faced by public secondary and primary schools.  ASUU is the only union in Nigeria that seems to have all the answers to the the unending lies, deceit, insincerity and cunning attitude of our leaders. Their efforts to create division within ASUU ...

The Consequences Of Political Decisions

Mama Gajir has put a capital full stop to the Blood Daylight Robbery on  Gboko-Ihugh road by those thugs in the name of "Revenue Collection Checkpoints." Before she became the Local Government Chairman, the road was hell for everybody but most especially businessmen. It is not an exaggeration, they were nearly twelve (12) Revenue Checkpoints in Ushongu Local Government between her boundaries with Gboko and Vandeikya Local Governments. Ihugh and Lessel  markets were worst hit as buyers refused to attend the markets for fear of brutality and exploitation on the road.  Gboko Local Government Chairman after  several consultations has ordered the sell of sachet  water for ten (10) naira as usual in Gboko township. 2023 election is edging closer to our doorsteps. Political decisions determine the kind of society that exist and will exist in the future. It determines the quality of life the society lives. Your vote is the determining factor. Cas...

Post Insurgency Recovery: Buni, Zulum in Japan, study Hiroshima Experience

The Executive Governors of Yobe, Mai Mala Buni and his Borno state counterpart, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum are undertaking a study tour in Japan to borrow from the Hiroshima recovery process of the post-1945 Atomic bomb destructions. The study tour coordinated by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Japanese International Coorperation Agency (JICA) was to equip Yobe, Borno, and Adamawa state governments with a sustainable post-insurgency recovery process. Governors Buni, Zulum, and a representative of Adamawa state government noted that the Hiroshima experience would contribute to fast-tracking peace-building and recovery processes from the horrific Boko Haram insurgency in their respective states. Governor Buni also discussed areas of interest to the state which include education, agriculture, humanitarian and livelihood support as well as youth empowerment and skills acquisition. The delegation also had discussions on t...

Why "Yes Father Movement" Is Ahead

I think this is what should be called politics in action. Penetrating villages and communities for Mobilisation cum formation of support groups and voter education.  This is where Fr. Alia group is soundly ahead of others.  Benue Youth Movement (BYM) for Fr. Alia became pronounced in 2019. Their mobilisation is from the Jupiter. They knew the mission right then. There is no single village now in Benue State  that you can't meet BYM. They have covered all the 23 local governments with officials at Kindreds, Council wards, local governments, senatorial Districts and formidable state officials. There are very aggressive in their mobilisation and tactics. They are really doing the dirty job for who they believe in. I know them in and out. They are sacrificing everything humanly possible. The results is practical. We have the Almighty Divine Mandate. They have torched almost every settlement in Benue State. They have giving birth to many other support groups. Divine Mandate is...
