FR. ALIA MARKS 32 YEARS AS CATHOLIC PRIEST, CALLS FOR SUSTAINED PRAYERS FOR IDPs, POOR MASSES

The APC candidate for the 2023 Benue gubernatorial election Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has called for sustained prayers for the Internally Displaced persons (IDPs) and the poor masses of Benue State as he marks 32 years as a Catholic Priest.

On this day of his 32nd anniversary of ordination to the priesthood, Fr. Alia gives thanks to God for choosing and annointing him to be His servant, sharing in the priesthood of Jesus Christ at the service of the people of God.

He expressed his sincere gratitude to God for making him an instrument of divine grace in administering the sacraments, and leading him with His merciful hand to be where he is today.

While offering prayers to God for a gift of fidelity and perseverance, Fr. Alia reiterated his love and passion for priesthood, stating however that, God has directed him to take a sabbatical on his sacred orders to take a more spiritually significant role of promoting the value of the crucified Christ among the suffering people of Benue State.

He deeply reflected on the condition of IDPs and the poor masses, saying, today is "a prayerful day for our IDPs who are left to languish and the poor masses dying in our deplorable general hospitals because there's no meds, no care, no treatment in those dilapidated structures and above all no salaries/pensions for them to seek alternatives."

The APC candidate also congratulates all his mates and advised them to thank God for the gift of life, health, and priesthood, emphasizing that 32 years signals maturity and growth, it tells the quality of service that one has rendered as a priest, the lives he has touched and the souls he has saved.
